Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum is thrilled to announce art and nature inspired programming coming to the Park this spring. Families can enjoy fun, family-friendly activities, adults can participate in workshops and wellness sessions, and everyone can enjoy two of our annual signature events this spring.
Annual Signature Events
Founder’s Weekend
Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 | 9AM – 5PM
Enjoy free admission all weekend in honor of Pyramid Hill’s founder, Harry T. Wilks. Explore our modern sculptures, hiking trails, antiquities collection, and all new art exhibitions in the Gallery Museum. An additional family-friendly craft activity will be offered on Sunday.
Art & Earth Day
Saturday, April 25 | 9AM – 5PM
Included in general Park admission
Join us for a full day of activities, education, and demonstrations celebrating Earth Day, Arbor Day, and International Sculpture Day. See all new site-specific sculptures created by regional student artists, and learn about native plants with the Miami Hamilton Conservatory. Get creative with an interactive craft for kids and workshop demonstrations for all ages. Food options will be available, details to be announced.
Art Exhibitions and Receptions
Michael Dunbar: New Works
Exhibition open March 7 through July

Join sculptor Michael Dunbar, creator of the monumental piece in Pyramid Hill's outdoor collection, Euclid’s Cross, for a new exhibition of his latest works. Exhibition will include several pieces that have never been shown publicly. Reception will include a conversation with the artist himself, refreshments, and small bites.
Robert McCloskey: Season of Wonder

This exhibition is the second year of our partnership with the McCloskey Wonder Works Museum through the Butler County Historical Society. Show features illustrations from McCloskey’s masterpiece, Time of Wonder (1957), on loan from the May Massee Collection at Emporia State University, KS. These vibrant illustrations from the Caldecott winning book tell the story of nature, weather, and wonder as a family explores an island in Maine. Also included are illustrations by Claire Keane from Angela Burke Kunkel’s Make Way, as well as maquettes by sculptor Nancy Schon that capture McCloskey’s illustrated characters in three dimensions.

Sound Meditation

Immerse yourself in a 90-minute sound journey held under the serene beauty of the Pyramid House skylight, and surrounded by the history of antiquities. Refresh your mind, body, and spirit with the resonant tones of crystal singing bowls, gongs, and other sound instruments. This immersive journey is designed to calm the nervous system, reset your energy, and create space for inner stillness and reflection.
Forest Bathing with Jess Sparks

Forest bathing is the Japanese practice of “Bathing in the Healing Elements of the Forest”. This guided experience is an invitation to slow down and awaken the senses, allowing you to quietly take in nature’s gifts. Forest Bathing follows a standard sequence including slow, attentive walking, guided sensory experiences, individual reflection, closing with tea made with foraged ingredients, and optional group sharing.

Collaborative and Communal Dance Making

Join instructor and educator, Teresa VanDenend Sorge in the spacious beauty of Pyramid Hill for a program on collaborative dance making. Participants will be guided through movement tasks to explore dance and self expression through concepts of time, energy, space, and movement.

Learn a new skill or practice a creative outlet with a wide range of artist-led classes.
Stained Glass Mushrooms
Saturday, March 28 | 1PM – 3:30PM

Construct and solder glass to bring your mushroom design to life! Laura Waligorski of the Glass Garden Club will teach guests to compile pre-cut glass, copper foil, and solder it all together. Take home your handmade magical glass piece at the end of the workshop.
Watercolor Journaling

Whether you’re exploring your own backyard, a national park, or another country, learn to document your travels with beautiful watercolor paintings by practicing with Pyramid Hill's picturesque landscape. From Poland to Crete, discover how Cynthia Kukla has created watercolor mementos at our hands-on workshop. Get a painting tutorial, tips for crafting travel watercolor kits, and learn how to work comfortably on location and in nature.
Tea Blending with Native Plants
Saturday, May 9 | 10AM – 11:30AM
$45/member, $55/non-member
Experiment with dried herbs, fruits, and flowers to create a custom tea blend with Cass Ruhlman, owner of Antiquity Teahouse. Cass will teach participants about the health benefits of each ingredient, suggest seasonal pairings, and explore tea blends native to Ohio. Leave the workshop with your own customized tea blend to enjoy at home.
The Magic of Natural Inks
Saturday, May 9 | 1PM – 3:30PM
$40/member, $50/non-member
Experience the merging of nature and art as you create ink from plants, berries, and other natural resources. Jenn Acus-Smith demonstrates how to transform nature’s resources into a usable art material to create ink, receive tips on foraging, and explore how to alter color. Practice with the inks you create and leave the workshop with a bottle or two to continue painting with at home.
Ink & Drink
Happy hours hosted at the park with seasonally inspired beverages and an accompanying art-making activity.
Lino Cuts and Long Islands
Friday, May 22 | 6PM – 8PM
Included in general park admission
Join us for an evening of printmaking and delicious cocktails. Artist Stephanie Rae Berrie will display some of her unique floral fabric prints, and you can craft your own print to take home. Participate directly in the printing process and learn a little about how relief prints are created. Enjoy a specialty cocktail or choose from a selection of hard and soft beverages at the bar. One of the perks of being a park member is one free specialty cocktail per household to enjoy.
