Pyramid Hill is Proud to work with so many amazing artists year after year and we are so excited to share their wonderful work with you. Whether their work is in the outdoor gallery or in the galleries of the Ancient Sculpture Museum, you'll find their reception dates here.
Our Artist Receptions, or Artist Talks, typically happen on the opening day of the artists exhibition. All gallery openings are free with the cost of admission and are open to the public.

Sarah Nguyen's Broken Nature, Exhibit Running August 5–November 12.
Join us for this joint reception for the grand opening of Sarah Nguyen's Broken Nature. This exhibit will feature the works of Sarah Nguyen and Ron Fondaw.
Light snacks will be provided and the bar will have beer and wine available for purchase. Artist Sarah Nguyen will be answering questions and talking about her art.
Sarah Nguyen is a multimedia artist working primarily with paper. Storytelling is central to her work. Her solo show Broken Nature is a thoughtful deconstruction and transformation of imagery of war and the daily reminder of the pain and suffering of the unknown. Broken Nature combines two pivotal works: Break Into Blossom and Disquietude.
The stories and myths of a culture convey a sense of place and a sense of the people who inhabit that place. Visual art that interacts with a story enters a narrative sphere where it must encounter the local.
These pieces cause us to reexamine the past and ask "what if?" We are all aware of living in a time when brash actors or irresponsible leadership could draw us into actions and policies that we will one day have cause to regret. To think and rethink the actions of our past is an important step towards acting righteously and intentionally in the future.
Nguyen’s intention with this work is that visitors come away feeling thoughtful about the past, present, and future, and experience a bit of whiplash at the realization that we live in the reality we do, and, just maybe, work towards creating a better reality.
Ron Fondaw's Drawing In Between, Exhibit Exhibit Running August 5–November 12.
Join us for this joint reception for the grand opening of Ron Fondaw's Drawing In Between. This exhibit will feature the works of Sarah Nguyen and Ron Fondaw.

Artist Ron Fondaw will be answering questions and talking about his art.
Artist Ron Fondaw said about this exhibit, "Drawing is the tissue that holds my creative work together. Drawing is intuitive, spontaneous, holistic and quantum. It is the process that most closely mimics the plasticity of our own thinking process. This is my approach when working with any material or process weather it’s cast metal, ceramics or the earth itself. A plan is there but very quickly is taken over by intuition.
I am always looking for what I don’t know, so experimentation is critical for me. Abstraction best suits my pursuit because it conjures less bias and for a short while leaves us free from recognizable imagery allowing for the possibility of new discovery.
We humans retain the very powerful “Fight or Flight” response that helps us on a primal level to survive, but keeps us tethered to the recognizable world. It is my hope that the viewer will take flight inward to find that association and in doing so, perhaps see something new."
